Activity: A Message from the Future – Letter & Keepsake for the Wayfinder Doll
Theme: Your Wayfinder Doll has journeyed through listening, creating, and envisioning. Now, she becomes the sacred messenger for a heartfelt note from your future self—guiding you home to your purpose.
Supplies Needed:
- Journal or writing paper
- A small piece of decorative paper or mini scroll (for the doll’s keepsake letter)
- Markers, stamps, or watercolor for embellishment
- Ribbon, thread, or washi tape to “seal” the message
- Your Wayfinder Doll from earlier in the month (link to the first May video)
Step 1: Guided Visualization
Begin with a simple visualization to connect with your future self:
Close your eyes and imagine yourself 3–5 years in the future. You’ve been living in alignment with your purpose, feeling deeply fulfilled and creatively free. Where are you? What do you see around you? What are you creating, sharing, or embodying? How do you move through your day?
Now imagine this future version of you wants to send a message back through time—a letter filled with clarity, encouragement, and truth.
Step 2: Writing the Letter
In your journal or on a special sheet of paper, write a letter from this future self to your current self. Begin with:
“Dear [Your Name], I remember when you were right on the edge of…”
Prompts to inspire the content:
- What does your future self want you to trust?
- What struggles did she move through to arrive here?
- What creative gifts is she sharing with the world?
- What surprised her on this journey?
- What daily practices or mindset shifts helped her find her way?
- What words of wisdom does she offer with love and compassion?
Step 3: Mini Keepsake Letter for the Doll
Now distill your favorite line or two from your letter and write it on a small piece of paper to fold, roll into a scroll, or tuck into a tiny envelope.
Ideas for attaching it to your Wayfinder Doll:
- Create a satchel or pocket on her dress or cloak. I made a basket for mine.
- Place it in a hand-sewn pouch hung from her waist or shoulder.
- Affix it with a ribbon or thread as a message she carries close to her heart.
